This course focuses on essential aspects of higher education staff supervision and development through three central themes: human resources and equity, organizational finance, and organizational development. Through class conversations and activities, students explore the conceptual and practical knowledge needed for the effective management of organizational and staff dynamics within higher education institutions. The course also considers the complexities of human resources management specific to academia, covering recruitment, performance evaluation, and strategies for addressing diversity challenges. Throughout, students gain exposure to the ways higher education institutions develop as organizations that foster equitable and just change.
