This class has been designed to address the unique transitional needs of intercollegiate student-athletes. The purpose of this course is to help upperclassmen student-athletes prepare for life after sport - whenever that occurs. Students will learn soft skills that assist with the development of individual leadership and organizational leadership tactics. The course will be structured to address self-awareness or self-mastery, to address the psychological issues that accompany this challenging transition. Lastly, this course will demonstrate ways to utilize skills derived from their competitive sport and team collaboration to use as transitory skills for the future workforce. Topics covered will include career exploration, character development, values assessment and exploration, financial literacy and management, health and well-ness post-college and exploration of life outside of sports.
