In this course, students will be exposed to multiple research design principles that center community engagement and foster research collaborations with individuals outside of the academy. Students will have the opportunity to create mini-proposals that are guided by specific research design and informed by real-world contexts. This course takes a case-study approach to broaden and deepen student understanding and engagement with research conceptions, design, and implementation. Class experiences will also employ experts (scholars and community partners) within varying research designs to dialogue with students about the promises and challenges of using each design with existing projects.
