This is an introductory class focusing on the various styles of hip-hop such as pop and lock, breakdance, house dance, pop, crump and step. In addition to introducing various styles, the class will provide students with a historical context from which to view hip-hop dance as an urban mode of creative expression. Using various media, the students will also learn how to view and critique the dance form.
